Torrey's Beautiful Cottonwoods on Main Street

After generations of loyal service, many of our town’s legacy trees have unfortunately reached the end of their natural lifespan. Despite CPR they are now on life support and hospice. While they’ve stood on guard through countless wind events, snow, and more wind, time and the elements have taken their toll. For the safety of residents, vehicular travelers, visitors and personal property, the affected trees will be removed in the coming weeks. We’ll certainly miss their shade and their quiet company — but rest assured, new trees will be planted over time to continue the proud tradition; our town’s iconic canopy along Main St. and theTorrey Canal. A crowdfunding campaign will be launched to help cover funeral expenses and restoration costs.
